The church pavilion Au is a reformed church building in Au ZH . It is a branch church of the parish Wädenswil .

history

Both the Catholic and the Reformed parishes have real estate in the Wädenswil district of Au. A parity church center was planned from 1950 onwards, but this failed in 1970 due to resistance from the Reformed and the local electorate. The Wädenswil architect Josef Riklin therefore presented plans for a significantly smaller and simpler church center, which was built within a year and inaugurated on August 27, 1972 (the parish festival of the Wädenswil church ). In 1978 the pavilion received a free-standing bell carrier. The reformed pavilion was also allowed to be used by the Catholic parish of Wädenswil. Another attempt to create an equal center failed in 1995, whereupon the Catholic parish built the Brother Klaus center not far from the pavilion .

description

The inconspicuous barrack-like building is located in the middle of a residential area. Only the campanile with three bells from the Rüetschi foundry in Aarau identifies the building as a sacred building from the outside. The only access is through a door under a sign .

All rooms are accessible from the foyer . In addition to the church service hall, there is also a community room, an office, storage rooms, kitchen and toilets in the pavilion. The church service hall is illuminated by narrow skylights in the north-east wall and a row of windows in the south-west wall. An embroidered antependium adorns the Lord's Supper table with a lectern.
