The Mathis Orgelbau AG is an organ building company in Näfels in the Swiss canton of Glarus .

history

The company was founded in 1960 by Manfred Mathis as a family company. In 1977 Orgelbau M. Mathis & Co. , which had been organized as a limited partnership until then, was converted into a stock corporation. In addition to the production of organs, it has made a name for itself worldwide through the restoration of historical musical instruments from different epochs. The company is a member of the Society of Swiss Organ Builders .

The number of organs built by Mathis amounts to more than 350 pieces.
