Chapel of St. Josef (Planken)
The St. Josef Chapel is a Roman Catholic church building in the municipality of Planken in the Principality of Liechtenstein . From an ecclesiastical perspective, the place belongs to the parish of Schaan , but has its own church with the St. Joseph Chapel.
history
The single-nave chapel with an apsidal choir was built in 1768. In 1861 a tower was added over the western front. Prince Franz I donated three neo-baroque altars with copies of old masters to the church in 1929 . During renovation work according to plans by the architect Felix Schmid from Rapperswil, the chapel was given its current appearance in 1955. In the course of this work u. a. the western tower was replaced by a hexagonal wooden roof turret above the choir, in which a bell from 1724 hangs. In addition, the main entrance was covered and a sacristy was added to the south . The building was renovated inside and out in 2007.
Furnishing
In the chapel there is a crucifixion group with a crucifix , which was made in the second half of the 15th century. The two wooden sculptures of Maria and Joseph (1480/1500) also date from this period. The modern bronze crucifix is a work by the Liechtenstein artist Georg Malin . The tabernacle was made by Meinrad Burch from Zurich; the glass paintings are by Edy Renggli from Lucerne.

The organ is on the gallery above the entrance . The slider chests -instrument with 7 registers on a manual and pedal comes from the workshop of the company Mathis organ building and was built in the 1984th The playing and stop actions are mechanical. The arrangement of the organ is as follows:
