Linnea Maria Torstenson (born March 30, 1983 in Eskilstuna ) is a Swedish handball player .

Career

Torstenson started playing handball at IFK Strängnäs and later moved to Skövde HF . In the summer of 2007 Torstenson moved to the Danish first division club GOG Svendborg TGI , which she left after a few months. Then the back player ran again for Skövde, with whom she won the Swedish championship in 2008. The right-hander then moved to the Danish club Aalborg DH . With Aalborg Torstenson was in the final of the Danish championship 2009, but failed there at Viborg HK . In 2010 she signed a contract with league rivals FC Midtjylland Håndbold . Torstenson won the EHF Cup with the FCM in 2011 . In the summer of 2012 she joined the Slovenian club RK Krim , with which she won the championship and the Slovenian Cup in 2013. In January 2014 she moved to the injury-ridden Danish first division club Viborg HK. With Viborg she won the 2014 European Cup Winners' Cup and the Danish championship. From summer 2014 she played for the Romanian first division club CSM Bucharest . With CSM Bucharest she won the championship in 2015, 2016 and 2017, the Romanian Cup in 2016 and 2017 and the EHF Champions League in 2016 . For the 2017/18 season she moved to the French first division club OGC Nice . Two seasons later she returned to CSM Bucharest.

Torstenson has played 175 games for Sweden so far , in which she scored 654 goals. At the European Championships in 2010 , she took 2nd place with the Swedish selection. In addition, she took second place in the list of goalscorers with 48 goals and was named MVP of the EM at the end of the tournament . In summer 2012 she took part in the Olympic Games in London . At the 2014 European Championships , she won the bronze medal with Sweden. She also took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
