Mariama Signaté (born July 22, 1985 in Dakar , Senegal ) is a former French handball player .

Career

Signaté started playing handball in Toulon in 1990 . The backcourt player then played in Le Havre between 2003 and 2005. Her next stop was Fleury-les-Aubrais, where she played for three years. In 2008 Signate joined HBC Nîmes, with whom she won the EHF Challenge Cup a year later . In summer 2010 Signaté moved to the Danish first division club Aalborg DH . After a season in Denmark, she joined the French club Issy Paris HB. In summer 2014 she signed a contract with the Hungarian first division club ÉTV-Érdi VSE . In 2018 she moved to the French first division team Chambray Touraine Handball . There she ended her career after the 2018/19 season.

Signaté completed 147 games for the French selection , in which they scored 424 hits. With the French team, the right-hander took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in China and 2012 in London . A year later, Signaté took part in the world championship , where she was runner-up. Signaté was also elected to the all-star team of the world championship. The French continued to take part in the 2013 World Cup.
