Steen Herschend, who for the Kongelig Dansk Yacht Club sailed, won in 1912 in Stockholm at the Olympic Games in the 6-meter class silver medal. He was a crew member of Nurdug II , the rest of the crew consisted of Sven Thomsen and Hans Meulengracht-Madsen , the latter being the skipper of the boat. In two races, the French boat Mac Miche , like the Nurdug II , took first and second place each, so that there was a jump-off for overall victory between the two boats. The Mac Miche prevailed in the third race and finished the regatta in first place, leaving the Nurdug II in second place.
