Mathias Boe (born July 11, 1980 in Frederikssund ) is a Danish badminton player .

Career

Mathias Boe won silver at the European Championships in 2006 and 2010 with Carsten Mogensen in men's doubles. The two lived up to their role as favorites at the 2011 European Championships and were able to record their first title at the European Championship. In the final, they safely won against the German duo Michael Fuchs and Oliver Roth in two sets.

They also won the All England 2011 after they were in the final in 2010. Another tournament in the BWF Super Series, the China Open , they won in 2011. On the way to the final, they eliminated both the Olympic champions Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan and the South Korean Olympic favorites Lee Yong-dae and Jung Jae-sung. In 2012 they won silver at the Olympics and in 2015 again the All England .

At the end of November 2018, Mathias Boe announced that he would no longer be part of the Danish national team as of January 1, 2019. However, he still wants to compete with Carsten Mogensen in tournaments on the BWF World Tour.

Play style

Boe is considered one of the best front players on the badminton circuit. Both its serve and return are immensely effective. The preferred variant is that Carsten Mogensen brings his partner Boe online so that he can complete the points there.
