Frederikssund Kommune [ fʀɛðəʀegˈsonʔ ] is a Danish municipality on Roskilde Fjord on the island of Sjælland in the Hovedstaden region .

As a result of the municipal reform on January 1, 2007, the municipalities of Jægerspris , Slangerup and Skibby were incorporated into the "old" Frederikssund municipality (all in the Frederiksborg office ). Today's municipality thus covers an area of ​​247.10 km² and has 45,223 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).

The municipality of Frederikssund is characterized by the fjord and the Ice Age moraine landscape. The seat of the administration is in the city of Frederikssund .
