Uwe Ferl (born October 7, 1958 in Leipzig ) is a former German soccer player and today's soccer coach . In Böhlen , Leipzig and Brandenburg he played in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .
Athletic career
Soccer player
At the age of six Uwe Ferl joined the company sports community (BSG) Motor Ost Leipzig. In 1968, at the age of ten, he switched to Leipzig's soccer focus, 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig . There he last played in 1978 in the junior league . In the second half of the league season 1977/78 Ferl moved to the league club BSG Chemie Böhlen . On April 8, 1978 he made his debut in the major league in the encounter on the 19th match day Böhlen - 1. FC Magdeburg . In his team's 1-0 victory, he was substituted on for striker Eberhard Köditz in the 76th minute . By the end of the season Ferl was used in the remaining seven league games, where he was six times in the starting line-up and on the 22nd game day in a 1: 4 against FC Carl Zeiss Jena scored his first league goal. In the 1978/79 season he was part of the core team of BSG Chemie from the start. In his 22 league appearances, he played alternately in midfield and in attack. After Chemie Böhlen had ended the season as relegated, Ferl returned to 1. FC Lok Leipzig. There, coach Harro Miller initially trusted him in 1978/79 and put him in the starting line-up in five league games from matchday one, again as a midfielder or attacking player. When midfielder Ronald Kreer was fit again after a long injury break, Ferl only made four short appearances during the season and instead played in the junior league. Although he was also nominated for the league team for the 1980/81 season, Ferl only made four appearances in the league, instead he was a regular player in the youth league again as a striker.
For the 1981/82 season Ferl returned to Chemie Böhlen. The BSG had just been relegated from the league, so Ferl had to compete in the second-rate GDR league for the first time . Ferl was involved in the immediate resurgence with 17 league games and five goals. He was also able to play the first round of promotion, after which he was drafted for 18 months of military service in the National People's Army . During this time he was able to continue playing football for the GDR league club, the Vorwärts Dessau army sports community . In 29 possible league appearances, he was used in 23 games mainly in midfield and scored five league goals.
After completing his military service, Ferl joined the league promoter Chemie Leipzig in November 1983 . He was able to gain a regular position at the Leipzig BSG. In the remaining 16 league games of the 1983/84 season, Ferl was used in ten games and scored his first goal for chemistry. In 1984/85 he was one of the main players in the BSG with only two missed league games and four goals, which had to be relegated from the league again after this season.
A planned upper league engagement with Stahl Brandenburg was initially broken because Ferl was banned from the upper league and GDR league for disciplinary reasons. The season 1985/86 Ferl spent with the 2nd team of Brandenburg in the third-class district league Potsdam . 1986/87 Ferl was again eligible to play for the league team of Stahl Brandenburg. However, he could only complete the first seven league games in which he was used in midfield. He was also able to take part in the two UEFA Cup games in 1986 against Northern Irish representatives Coleraine FC (1-1, 1-0). He then suffered a protracted injury, so that he was out for the rest of the season.
In the summer of 1987 Ferl returned to Chemie Böhlen a second time and has now stayed in the GDR league for three seasons. He was able to regain a regular place by playing 86 games out of 102 league games. He was consistently used in the storm and thanked this with a total of 16 goals. The season 1989/90 ended the BSG Chemie Böhlen as a season winner and qualified for the next league season. As a result of the political turnaround in 1989 , the soccer sections of the company sports associations of Chemie Böhlen and Chemie Leipzig merged to form FC Sachsen Leipzig , which exercised Böhlen's right to start in the league for the 1990/91 season. The new line-up also included Uwe Ferl, who was again part of the regular team. In his 23 appearances in 26 league games, he was usually called up in midfield and scored two goals. After the East German soccer division was taken over by the DFB , FC Sachsen was incorporated into the now third-class Oberliga-Nordost . Ferl played with FC Sachsen in the major league until 1993. He ended his career as a football player with the Leipzig district division (6th division) SSV Markranstädt .
coach
His first position as a trainer was the post of co-trainer at his former club FC Sachsen Leipzig from 1998 to 2001, as an interim solution he was even head trainer for a short time. After training TuS Leutzsch 1990, a junior cooperation partner of Sachsen Leipzig, for only eight weeks in 2001, he returned to SSV Markranstädt in 2002 , where he was released in November 2004. A good month later he was hired by the upper division FSV Zwickau . He could not avoid relegation to the Landesliga Sachsen , but a year later he was promoted again. The club's board dismissed him on April 10, 2007. Then Ferl took over the training of the club division FC Grün-Weiß Piesteritz , which he led to promotion to the Oberliga Nordost in 2010/11. In 2015 he took over the Saxon division SG Taucha 99, which was in the relegation battle, and managed to stay up. He has been back at SSV Markranstädt since the 2017/2018 season and looks after the team in his home town in the Sachsenliga.
Trivia
Ferl is the father of the former professional soccer player Daniel Ferl , former Alemannia Aachen player and current trainer of SG Rotation Leipzig in the state class North Saxony.
