Rikke Møller Pedersen (born January 9, 1989 ) is a Danish swimmer .

Career

Pedersen achieved greater international attention for the first time in October 2009 in Odense when she swam a new European short course record in 02: 18.52 minutes over 200 meters and in 01: 04.59 minutes over 100 meters breaststroke .

Already at the European Short Course Championships in Rijeka in 2008 she had reached the final over all breast distances and achieved her best placement over 50 meters breast with sixth place.

She was able to improve the record over 200 meters chest at a World Cup meeting in Berlin and then when she won the European Championship in Istanbul in 2009 to 2: 16.66 minutes. In the same competitions, she reached the finals over 50 meters and came in seventh. Pedersen improved the record over 100 meters chest again in December 2009 in St. Petersburg by 16 hundredths of a second to 1: 04.21 min.

In November 2012, Møller Pedersen improved her own European record to 1: 04.12 minutes at the 2012 European Short Course Championships in Chartres over 100 meters chest. Less than a month later, she was able to undercut this again at the World Championships in Istanbul with 1: 03.52 s.

In March 2013 she improved the European record over 200 meters to 2: 20.53 s on the long track in Copenhagen . At the 2013 World Championships in Barcelona she achieved a new world record with 2: 19.11 seconds over this route in the semifinals, but had to admit defeat to Julija Jefimowa in the final . Over 100 meters she took fourth place. In the subsequent World Cup competition in Berlin, she improved the 200-meter European short course record she still held to 2: 15.93 s.
