Katrine Fruelund (born July 12, 1978 in Randers ) is a former Danish handball player .

Career

Katrine Fruelund came through the clubs Vorup FB and Randers HK to the Danish top club Viborg HK , for which she was active from 1999 to 2005. In 2005, the 1.74 m tall back player moved to the Bundesliga club HC Leipzig , for whom she played one season. In 2006 she returned to Denmark, where she played again for Randers HK . In the summer of 2012 she ended her career there. She then became head of the next generation and gave birth to her daughter in February 2013. In July 2013 she announced her comeback at Randers HK. After the 2013/14 season, she ended her career again and became assistant coach of Randers HK. Since the 2019/20 season she has been a member of the Appeals Committee of the Danish Handball Federation.

For the Danish national team , she played 184 international matches, in which she scored 570 goals. With the national team, she won two Olympic gold medals and one European championship.
