Søren Hancke (born December 13, 1939 in Aarhus ) is a former Danish sailor .

successes

Søren Hancke, who sailed for the Hellerup Sejlklub , took part in the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome in the 5.5 m class . Besides Steen Christensen, he was a crew member of Skipper William Berntsen's Web II , which won two of the seven races. They finished the regatta taking place in Naples with 5678 points in second place behind the American boat Minotaur led by George O'Day and in front of the Ballerina IV from Switzerland with skipper Henri Copponex , with which they won the silver medal.
