Thora Gerda Sofie Castenschiold (born February 1, 1882 in Copenhagen , † January 30, 1979 in Helsingborg ; married Sofie Carlheim-Gyllensköld ) was a Danish tennis player .
Life
Castenschiold was born in 1882 to Sofus Jean Castenschiold and his wife Victoire Jacqueline Fortunée de Seréne de Acqueria. As a member of B.93 Copenhagen she took part in the Wimbledon Championships several times and was able to reach the quarter-finals there in 1910.
She also took part in the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm. She couldn't place in the mixed competition, but she also played in the women's singles, where she met Edith Hannam in the final . She lost this final and got the silver medal.
After the Olympic Games she married Adolf Bengt Gustaf Carlheim-Gyllensköld, with whom she moved to Sweden . She died in Helsingborg in 1979 at the age of 96.
