Anders Peter Nielsen (born May 25, 1867 in Harlev , † April 16, 1950 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish sports shooter .

successes

Anders Peter Nielsen took part in four Olympic Games . In 1900 in Paris he won the silver medal with the army rifle in the three-position fight as well as in the prone position and in the kneeling position. The competitions also functioned as a world championship , but the names of the discipline differ between IOC and ISSF , the IOC names the army rifle as a weapon, the ISSF leads the competition under free rifle . 1912 remained Nielsen in Stockholm also no medal win as well in 1924 in Paris, celebrated in between at the Olympic Games 1920 in Antwerp but his greatest Olympic success. In the team competition with the army rifle, he was in the standing position, together with Niels Larsen , Lars Jørgen Madsen , Anders Petersen and Erik Sætter letting American US before and the Swedish team Olympic champion . His son Arne Nielsen also took part in the 1924 Olympic Games.

At world championships he won, in addition to the silver medals in 1900, in 1899 in Loosduinen and in 1914 in Viborg a bronze medal with the team in the three-position fight with the free rifle.
