Lamia Yammine

Lamia Yammine ( Arabic لميا يمين, DMG Lamiyā Yammīn ; * 1974 in Zgharta ) is a Lebanese architect and university professor. From January to August 2020 she was Minister of Labor in the Diab cabinet .

Live and act

Yammine completed secondary school at the Ecole Notre-Dame de Nazareth in Beirut and holds a degree in engineering from the Lebanese University in Tripoli. In 2001, she also received a postgraduate diploma in the restoration of buildings and the preservation of historic sites from UL, a partner of the Paris École Chaillot. Yammine ran a planning and execution office for residential, commercial and industrial projects. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Douaihy pour le bois, a wood design company in Zouk Mosbeh .

On January 21, 2020, Yammine was appointed Minister of Labor in Hassan Diab's cabinet as a representative of the Maronite community and on the proposal of the Marada Party.

After Hassan Diab resigned as Prime Minister on August 10, 2020, the Minister remained in office until a new cabinet was formed.
