Peter Fich Christiansen (born April 4, 1941 in Fredriksberg ) is a former Danish rower . Together with Hans Jørgen Boye , he won the European championship title in 1965 in a double without a helmsman .

Athletic career

The 1.82 m tall Christiansen rowed for the Lyngby Roklub . At the European Championships in 1964, the Dutch Ernst Veenemans and Steven Blaisse won in two without a helmsman, ahead of the Germans Michael Schwan and Wolfgang Hottenrott , Boye and Christiansen received the bronze medal. In Tokyo at the 1964 Olympic Games, the Canadians George Hungerford and Roger Jackson won ahead of the Dutch and the Germans, and behind the British two, the two Danes finished fifth. In the post-Olympic year, the two Danes then won the title at the European Championships in 1965 ahead of the Austrians Dieter Losert and Dieter Ebner .

At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, Peter Fich Christiansen competed with Ivan Larsen . It won Jörg Lucke and Heinz-Jürgen Bothe before the US-two with Lawrence Hugh and Philip Johnson with Christiansen and Larsen in third place. The two Danes also came third at the European Championships in 1969 ; Hugh and Johnson, who were also eligible to start at the European Championships , won ahead of Frank Forberger and Dieter Grahn from the GDR.

At the European Championships in 1971 Christiansen took seventh place with the Danish four-man without a helmsman , at the 1972 Olympic Games the boat reached the A-final and sixth place. In the post-Olympic year, the four reached the ninth place at the European Championships in 1973 .
