Niklas Larsen (born March 22, 1997 in Slagelse ) is a Danish racing cyclist who is active on track and road .
Athletic career
In 2014 Niklas Larsen became Danish junior champion in the junior individual time trial . The following year he won the silver medal in the team pursuit at the European Junior Championships , together with Rasmus Lund Pedersen , Frederik Madsen and Tim Vang Cronqvist . At the UCI Road World Championships in 2015 , Larsen finished seventh in the junior individual time trial. In the following year, Larsen was used in the Danish elite track four at the 2016 UCI Track World Championships in London , which won the bronze medal.
In the same year, Niklas Larsen was nominated for the start in the team pursuit at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he won the bronze medal in the team pursuit together with Lasse Norman Hansen , Rasmus Christian Quaade , Casper von Folsach , Frederik Madsen and Casper Pedersen . The following year he was U23 European champion in the points race . At the 2017/18 Track Cycling World Cup , he won the overall ranking in the Omnium . At the UCI World Railroad Championships 2018 in Apeldoorn , the Danish four-man finished second with Larsen, Julius Johansen , Frederik Madsen and Casper von Folsach. The following year, the Danish foursome (with Julius Johansen, Rasmus Pedersen , Casper von Folsach and Lasse Norman Hansen) won the bronze medal at the World Railroad Championships . He was also successful on the road: Among other things, he won silver in road races at the U23 European Road Championships , and he won the overall and junior ranking of the Tour of Denmark .
In November 2019, Larsen broke his leg dancing during a team celebration and was unable to train for several weeks. His conclusion: "Next time I'll stop at the bar."
