Rasmus Christian Quaade (born January 7, 1990 in Valby ) is a Danish track and road cyclist .

Athletic career

Rasmus Christian Quaade was first in the junior single pursuit at the Danish track cycling championships in 2007. He also took second place in the points race and came third in the team pursuit . The following year he won the junior team pursuit championship. He also became national champion in the team time trial in the youth class.

At the UCI Track World Championships 2013 in Minsk , Quaade took third place in the team pursuit, together with Casper von Folsach , Lasse Norman Hansen and Mathias Møller . The following year, the Danish team with Quaade, von Folsach, Hansen and Alex Rasmussen took second place at the World Cup . In 2016, the Danish four-wheeler was again third in the World Championships in the composition of Quaade, Hansen, Niklas Larsen , Frederik Madsen and von Folsach.

In 2016 Rasmus Christian Quaade was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . Together with Lasse Norman Hansen , Niklas Larsen , Casper von Folsach , Frederik Madsen and Casper Pedersen , he won the bronze medal in the team pursuit. In the same year, the Danish four-man track won the bronze medal at the World Track Championships with Quaade .

The following year, Quaade won a stage Ronde de l'Oise and in 2018 the Classic Loire-Atlantique and, with Martin Toft Madsen, the Duo Normand . Also in 2018 he came second overall on the Tour of Denmark .

In 2012 the Danish filmmaker Daniel Dencik produced the documentary Moon Rider about Quaade's athletic career.

On September 3, 2015, Rasmus Quaade set the world record in the time trial over 2000 meters on a cargo bike from the manufacturer Larry vs Harry . On August 18, 2018, he won the anniversary edition of Svajerløb, the Danish cargo bike championship.
