Martin Toft Madsen (born February 20, 1985 in Birkerød ) is a Danish cyclist .

Athletic career

From 2016 to 2018, Martin Toft Madsen was the Danish time trial champion three times in a row . In 2017 he also won the renowned Chrono des Nations time trial competition .

On July 26, 2018, Toft Madsen tried to improve Bradley Wiggins' hour record of June 7, 2015 over 54.526 kilometers on the Velodromo Bicentenario in Aguascalientes, Mexico (altitude around 1880 meters) . He covered 53.63 kilometers in 60 minutes, so that he was 896 meters short of Wiggins' record. With that, however, he achieved the second-longest distance covered in the hour and a new Danish hour record.
