Alireza Dabir , Persian علیرضا دبیر, (Born September 16, 1977 in Rey ) is an Iranian freestyle wrestler and participant in the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney and participant in the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens .
In 1998 he became world champion in the men's 58 kg weight category in Tehran . At the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, he won the gold medal in this discipline. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens Dabir lost his two opening bouts, which he played with a shoulder injury.
Further successes of Dabir are three silver medals, which he won at three world championships in 1999 ( Ankara ), 2001 ( Sofia ) and 2002 ( Tehran ). At the 2002 Asian Games in Busan , he won another silver medal.
In addition to his sporting successes, Alireza Dabir has also successfully completed his studies in administrative management. In 2006 he won a seat in Tehran's local elections.
