Dejan Tomašević ( Serbian - Cyrillic Дејан Томашевић ; born May 5, 1973 in Belgrade , SR Serbia ) is a former Serbian basketball player .

Dejan Tomašević began his professional career in his home country Serbia at Borac Čačak. In 1991 he moved to the traditional Serbian club Red Star Belgrade, where he was under contract until 1995 and was able to win the championship twice (1993, 1994). In 1995 he moved to the city and arch rival Partizan Belgrade, which caused great resentment among the fans of Red Star. With Partizan, Tomasevic won two championships (1996, 1997) and a cup (1999). In 1999 he signed with Budućnost Podgorica and was able to win three other national titles. In 2001 Tomašević moved abroad to Spain for the first time and played there for the clubs Taugres (2001 to 2002) and Valencia (2002 to 2005). During this period he was able to win a double (2002) and the ULEB Cup in 2003. Tomašević has been playing for the traditional Greek club Panathinaikos Athens since 2005 , where he won the double in the first year and the triple in his second year .

The 2.08 m center won a number of national titles and a. also three European championships and a world championship with the Serbian national team, in which he was an integral part for years.
