Lars Bock (born January 2, 1955 in Frederiksberg ) is a former Danish handball player .

Career

Bock played at Frederiksberg IF (FIF for short). After he attracted the attention of Gert-Hinrich Reese, then the chairman of the German handball Bundesliga club THW Kiel , at the 1974 World Cup , he was able to convince the 1.90 meter tall player to be the first foreign player to move to the Kiel Fjord . Lars Bock did not feel at home in Kiel, however. In addition to his dissatisfaction with his job as a lifeguard, he was homesick, so he left the THW after six months and returned to FIF. He played eight games for the Zebras , in which he scored 20 goals. From the summer of 1975 he played for three years at the Swedish club Olympia Helsingborg, and then in his Danish homeland in Holte . Because of knee problems, Bock had to end his career at the age of 26.

Lars Bock made his international debut for the Danish national team on November 22, 1973 against the GDR . In a total of 79 games he scored 178 goals and took part with Denmark in the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal .
