The US Virgin Islands participated in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal with a delegation of 21 athletes (19 men, two women) in six sports. It was the third time the US Virgin Islands had participated in the Olympics. The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the wrestler Ivan David .
