The European Olympic Youth Festival 2013 ( European Youth Olympic Summer Festival 2013 ), found from 14 to 19 July 2013 in Utrecht ( Netherlands instead). It was the 12th edition of the EYOF Youth Games , a biennial multi-sport event for young athletes from Europe. 2300 athletes from 49 countries took part.

The festival opened on Sunday, July 14th, with a celebration at the Galgenwaard Stadium by King Willem-Alexander in the presence of IOC President Jacques Rogge , EOC President Patrick Joseph Hickey and Rinda the best representing the city and chairing this year's EYOF . The Olympic flame was lit by Max Geesink, grandson of the Dutch judo legend Anton Geesink . The last games and the closing event took place on Friday, July 19th. The Olympic flag was presented to the Mayor of Tbilisi , where the next edition of the event will take place in 2015.

On July 16, the British Abbie Wood achieved the 1,000th gold medal in the history of the EYOF in the 400-meter swim.

Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Great Britain, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Croatia, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Sweden, Switzerland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic, Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary, Belarus, Cyprus .

98 athletes from Germany took part, the largest German team to date in an EYOF. They competed in eight sports; the athletes were absent for the first time because the German Athletics Association and the German Olympic Sports Confederation were of the opinion that the age group reduced by the EOC this year was too low and not appropriate for the physical development of the young athletes.

The ÖOC sent 55 participants from Austria who competed in seven sports. Switzerland sent 41 and Luxembourg 17 athletes.
