The European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2009 ( European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2009 ) place from 15 to 20 February 2009 in Bielsko-Biała , Cieszyn , Szczyrk , Tychy and Wisła ( Poland instead). It was the ninth winter edition of the European Youth Olympic Festival , a biennial multisport event for young athletes from Europe. The most successful nation was Germany with 15 medals won. However, since Russia won one more gold medal, Germany only finished second in the medal table.
