The Skalite ski jumps in Szczyrk consist of several ski jumps . The facility includes a category K 40 jump , a middle hill of category K 70 and a normal hill of category K 95. The jumps are covered with plastic mattings. You are on the slopes of the mountain of the same name .
history
The first competition took place on February 14, 1937. At that time, widths of up to 40 meters were possible. In 1953 the ski jump was modernized for the first time. After the renovation work, Antoni Wieczorek jumped a new hill record with 63.5 m. Numerous major competitions and Polish championships took place on the new HS 90 hill.
The ski jumping facility was rebuilt for the Junior World Championships in 2008, so that the old K 85 hill became a K 95 hill. In addition to the normal hill, the K 40 and K 70 hills were built. The 2008 Junior World Championship had to be moved to Zakopane due to lack of snow . At the end of 2008 the K 95 was opened. At the beginning of 2009 the K 70 hill was opened as part of the European Olympic Winter Youth Festival , but jumping was on the K 95. On July 23, 2010 the K 40 hill was officially opened.
