Career

Paschke, who competes for the WSV Kiefersfelden , started skiing at the age of four and made his international debut in February 2005 at the FIS jumping competitions in Hinterzarten . In September 2007 it was used for the first time in the FIS Cup in Oberwiesenthal . In 2008 Paschke became German youth champion. Until 2010, Paschke started primarily in the FIS and the Alpine Cup. He recorded a significant increase in performance, especially from January 2010. In fourth place at the Alpine Cup in Lauscha , he achieved a place just behind the podium. On March 13 and 14, 2010, Paschke finally made his debut in the Continental Cup in Kuusamo, Finland, and finished in 38th and 37th place. He collected his first Continental Cup points in September of that year with a 23rd place in Almaty . Despite this first success, Paschke remained only in the perspective squad of the German Ski Association and continued to frequently start in the FIS Cup.

At the German Championships 2011 in Hinterzarten , Paschke won the title in the team competition together with Michael Neumayer , Marinus Kraus and Severin Freund . In January 2013, Paschke was seventh in the Continental Cup in Titisee-Neustadt and was among the top ten for the first time. At the German Championships in 2013 , as in 2012, he was part of the Bayern II team and won the bronze medal with Christian Heim , Michael Dreher and Markus Eisenbichler .

For the first time in the 2012/13 season , Paschke took part in almost every competition of the Continental Cup. In March 2013, he achieved two fourth places in Liberec and Vikersund . He also started the summer jumping with a good fourth place in Stams . On his debut in the World Cup on December 21, 2013 in Engelberg, he finished 47th, and in the second individual one day later, he came 41st. Back in the Continental Cup he finished fifth on the same hill just five days later. On January 11, 2014, he was second on the podium in a Continental Cup for the first time in Courchevel . In the following competitions in Sapporo he also showed his good form with three top 10 placements, whereupon he received another nomination from national coach Werner Schuster for the following World Cup in Sapporo . With the places 41 and 44, however, he again missed the points.

Back in the Continental Cup, Paschke again only just missed the podium in Iron Mountain . At the 2014 German Championships in Hinterzarten, he again celebrated a medal win with the Bayern II team and secured silver. On October 4, 2014 Paschke started in Klingenthal for the first time in the Ski Jumping Grand Prix and won a point in 30th place. On February 14, 2015, he was able to collect his first two World Cup points in ski flying ( Ski Jumping World Cup 2014/15 ) in Vikersund by finishing 29th.

National coach Werner Schuster nominated Paschke in December 2015 for the first time in the national group in the jumping for the Four Hills Tournament 2015/16 . In Oberstdorf , Paschke was able to prevail in the first round in a duel against Jurij Tepeš and achieved the first World Cup points of this season with 29th place .

Paschke celebrated his first win in the Continental Cup on September 16, 2017 in Trondheim , Norway , followed by two more on September 23 and 24 in Râșnov . On February 9, 2019, he won a Continental Cup competition in winter for the first time on the Pine Mountain Jump hill in Iron Mountain .

Paschke jumped in the World Cup for the entire 2019/20 season . Besides three times, he always reached the points. On January 11, 2020, he jumped 8th place on the normal hill in Predazzo, his best World Cup placement . On February 29, 2020, Paschke won a World Cup competition for the first time in Lahti in a team competition with Karl Geiger , Stephan Leyhe and Constantin Schmid . In the only ski flying of the season, he flew his personal best of 220.5 meters on the Kulm . At the end of the season he finished 21st in the overall World Cup with 353 points.
