Daniela "Dana" Vasilica Haralambie (born August 14, 1997 in Brașov ) is a Romanian ski jumper .

Career

Haralambie made her first international appearance at the age of eleven at the Children's Four Hills Tournament in Austria in 2008. She was able to win in Bischofshofen and, after two further podium finishes, came second in the tour behind the Austrian Chiara Hölzl . On August 14, 2010, her 13th birthday, she made her debut as part of the Ski Jumping Continental Cup . Despite her later disqualification, she was the first Romanian female ski jumper in this competition. In September 2010, she won the Swedish Falun her first Continental Cup points in 26th and last, and in the second event than 22. In the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2011 in Estonian Otepää reached in individual competition ranked 44th Shortly after she won the Romanian Championships for the first time. During the 2010/11 season she had already successfully jumped in the newly created FIS Ladies Cup . In the end, she finished seventh overall.

Since Haralambie was only 14 years old and not eligible to compete in the newly established Women's Ski Jumping World Cup , she continued to jump in the lower-class Continental Cup. In January 2012 she won points in both competitions in Zakopane . In the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2012 in Turkey's Erzurum was 27 on the normal hill. A short time later she won her second national title.

After she celebrated her 15th birthday on August 14, 2012, Haralambie made her debut in the Ski Jumping Grand Prix in Hinterzarten on August 17, 2012 , where she finished in 48th place. She also won points in both competitions in the Summer Continental Cup in Lillehammer , Norway . Less than two weeks later, she also succeeded in the Grand Prix. In November 2012 she was the first Romanian ever to be allowed to start the Ski Jumping World Cup , but did not get over 49th place in her first competition in Lillehammer. Also in the following competitions she did not win any points. After a short stopover in the FIS Cup in her home town of Râșnov , where she finished fifth and second on the podium, she started at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2013 in Liberec, Czech Republic . There she managed another increase in performance compared to the previous year and she reached 22nd place. At the European Youth Olympic Festival 2013 in Brașov , she ended up in eighth place, before three days later at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme, 43rd place Normal hill jumped.

After further starts in the World Cup, she made it into the second round for the first time on December 22, 2013 in Hinterzarten . There Haralambie secured her first World Cup points with rank 26. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2014 in Val di Fiemme, she finished 20th in the individual. In the 2014/15 season, she achieved her first podium places in the Alpine Cup in August 2014 . She came second once in Pöhla and once in Bischofsgrün . She also achieved further podium placements in the FIS Cup. In September 2014 she was first second in Râşnov and the following day she achieved her first victory in this series of competitions. In February 2015, she took third place in Hinterzarten. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2015 in Almaty , she finished 13th in the individual.

In the 2015/16 season, Haralambie celebrated further victories in the FIS Cup. She won once in August 2015 in Szczyrk and in both competitions in Râșnov, Romania in September 2015. She also managed to improve her performance in the World Cup this season. She reached the points in all her starts and improved her best individual placement to 20th place, which she jumped on February 4th in Oslo . In February 2016 she took part in the Junior World Ski Championships in Râşnov. With fourth place in the individual behind the Russian Sofja Tichonowa , she missed the bronze medal by just 0.6 points. With the Romanian team, she was seventh in the mixed team competition.

She was also successful in the FIS Cup in the 2016/17 season . She achieved a total of five podium finishes, including three wins. In addition, she won the overall ranking. On December 11, 2016, she achieved her best individual placement in the World Cup to date with 18th place in Nizhny Tagil . At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2017 in Park City , she took eleventh place in the individual and tenth place in the mixed team competition. At the 2017 World Ski Championships in Lahti , she finished 29th in the singles and 13th in the mixed team competition.

On January 21, 2018, Haralambie in Zaō improved her best individual World Cup placement to eleventh place. In February 2018, she took part in the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . In the individual competition on the normal hill she reached the 25th place. In the overall World Cup of the 2017/18 season , she finished 30th and thus achieved her best result to date.
