Natasha Bodnarchuk (born June 13, 1998 in Calgary ) is a Canadian ski jumper .

Career

Bodnarchuk made her international debut at an FIS competition in February 2016 in Whistler. Two weeks later she jumped at the 2016 Junior World Championships in Râșnov . In the individual on the normal hill, she jumped to 36th place. In March she jumped in the FIS Cup for the first time in Harrachov and reached the points straight away. In July, Bodnarchuk celebrated their first two podium places in this series in Szczyrk .

In February 2016 Natasha Bodnarchuk won the silver medal in the individual competition at the Canadian Championships 2016 on the normal hill in Whistler Olympic Park behind Eleora Hamming and ahead of Abigail Strate .

On August 26, 2016, Bodnarchuk made her debut in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup on the Fichtelbergschanzen in Oberwiesenthal . Already in the first competition she jumped sixth among the top ten and also convinced in eleventh in the second competition. She also finished eleventh in Lillehammer in September. At the beginning of winter 2016/17 , she joined the Canadians' World Cup squad, but missed the points in Lillehammer and Nizhny Tagil . After three more competitions in the FIS and Continental Cups, she traveled to Japan with the team. There she missed the qualification for both World Cups. At the Junior World Championships 2017 in Park City she reached 12th place in the individual on the normal hill. In the team competition she was sixth with Eleora Hamming , Nicole Maurer and Abigail Strate . At the following two World Cup competitions in Pyeongchang , Bodnarchuk achieved their first two placings in the points.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , Bodnarchuk retired from the normal hill as 40th after the first round. In mixed team jumping on the same hill, she was twelfth together with Joshua Maurer , Taylor Henrich and MacKenzie Boyd-Clowes .
