Abigail Strate starts for the Altius Nordic Ski Club . She made her debut in Villach on July 11 and 12, 2015 in the FIS Cup , but was disqualified in both competitions. Then Strate started in other competitions in the FIS Cup. On August 26th and 27th, 2016, Strate started in Oberwiesenthal for the first time in the Continental Cup ; there she reached the places 43 and 31, which she just missed a first top 30 placement. Two weeks later she achieved her first top 10 result and her first COC points in another Continental Cup competition in Lillehammer , finishing ninth. After further starts in the Continental Cup, she finished 23rd in the overall standings with 16 points at the end of the 2016/17 season .
On December 11, 2016 Strate made his debut in the Russian Nizhny Tagil in the Ski Jumping World Cup , but missed the second round with 34th place. After she achieved her first top 30 result with a 26th place in another World Cup participation in Pyeongchang in February 2017, she finished 56th in the overall standings with five points at the end of the 2016/17 season .
