Maximilian Lienher (born January 30, 1999 ) is an Austrian ski jumper .

Career

Lienher, who starts for the Kitzbühel Ski Club , made his international debut at the Nordic Ski Games of the OPA 2014 in Gérardmer , France , where he won the school competition from the Tremplin des Bas-Rupts medium hill . In the following years he regularly competed in the Alpine Cup and the FIS Cup .

On January 28, 2017, Lienher made his debut in the Continental Cup in his native Bischofshofen , but missed the points. He achieved this for the first time in the 2017/18 season when jumping from the Hochfirstschanze in Titisee-Neustadt at the beginning of January 2018 . About one month later Lienher took at the Junior World Championships in Switzerland Kandersteg part. While he finished 19th in the individual competition, he won the silver medal in the team competition together with Mika Schwann , Jan Hörl and Clemens Leitner . After he reached the points more often in the Continental Cup 2018/19 , he was nominated again for the Junior World Championships . In the competitions of the Salpausselkä normal hill in Finnish Lahti , he finished in seventh single, with the team the fifth and in the mixed team to fourth place.

In the summer of 2019, Lienher first competed in the FIS Cup, where he won two podiums in Szczyrk in Shchuchinsk . He was able to confirm this form at the Continental Cup competition in Schchuchinsk and won the competition on the large hill. He could not build on this performance in the rest of the season. In his Grand Prix debut in Hakuba, for example, he clearly missed the second round with a weak field of participants and he did not make any good jumps in the Continental Cup either. In winter he therefore mainly competed in the FIS Cup, but could not achieve single-digit placements there either.
