Clemens Leitner (born November 7, 1998 ) is an Austrian ski jumper . His older brother Felix is active as a biathlete .

Career

Clemens Leitner started on December 14th and 15th, 2013 for the first time in two competitions in Seefeld in Tyrol in the Alpencup , where he finished 56th and 59th. After further starts in the Alpencup, Leitner made his debut on January 30th and 31st, 2016 in Bischofshofen in the Continental Cup , where he finished 22nd and 12th and at the same time got his first Continental Cup points.

At the European Olympic Winter Youth Festival 2015 in Tschagguns , Leitner won the bronze medal in the team competition together with Julian Wienerroither , Michael Falkensteiner and Maximilian Schmalnauer . In the individual competition he finished 23rd; In the mixed team competition, he reached fifth place together with Julia Huber , Timna Moser and Michael Falkensteiner.

At the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer in February 2016, Leitner took ninth place in the individual competition and won the bronze medal in the mixed team competition together with Julia Huber and Florian Dagn .

At the Junior World Championships 2017 in Park City , Utah , Leitner won the bronze medal behind the teams from Slovenia and Germany in the team competition on the normal hill together with Markus Rupitsch , Mika Schwann and Janni Reisenauer . In addition, he took 19th place in the individual competition.

In the 2017/18 season Leitner was nominated in the Austrian national group for the Four Hills Tournament 2017/18 ; this was also his World Cup debut. He qualified both in Innsbruck and in Bischofshofen for the main competition, in which he even reached the second round and finally the 29th place in Innsbruck and thus also got his first two World Cup points. In Bischofshofen he finished 44th. At the 2018 Junior World Championships in Kandersteg, Switzerland, he won the silver medal with the Austrian team and the bronze medal in both singles and with the Austrian mixed team.
