Neighboring communities

history

Mils was first mentioned in a document in 930/31 as "Mulles" on the occasion of a transfer of ownership to the Archbishopric of Salzburg , but finds, graves and field names from pre-Roman and Roman times indicate that the place is much older.

The village was once a well-visited place of pilgrimage, but after the parish church burned down in 1791, it was more and more forgotten.

In the last 40 years, Mils has grown enormously as a settlement and residential area due to its sunny location. The northern district of Milser Heide is largely connected to the town center, while in the south there is an industrial park.

Population development

politics

The last mayoral elections took place at the same time as the municipal council elections on February 28, 2016. Peter Hanser was elected mayor (Christian Pittl renouncing a runoff election).

At the first municipal council meeting on March 16, 2016, Thomas Kölli was elected Vice Mayor.
