Oberhofen im Inntal is a municipality with 1861 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Innsbruck-Land district in Tyrol ( Austria ). The community is located in the judicial district of Telfs .
geography
Oberhofen is located in the Oberinntal , on the southern side of the valley, near Telfs. The highest point is the 2,884 m high Rietzer Grieskogel . It separated from the Pfaffenhofen community in 1786.
Oberhofen was able to retain its village character. Particularly attractive are the lined up houses along the old, now silted bank of the Inn on the northern edge of the town center. Located in the Telfer Basin, Oberhofen is a location for medium-sized companies with a good infrastructure.

history
The place is mentioned for the first time as "Oberenhouen" in the years 1115–1122 on the occasion of a transfer of ownership there in favor of the Rottenbuch Abbey .

Culture and sights
- Parish church of St. Nicholas: This was built in the years 1740–42 by the Inzing master builder Gallus Gratl.

Transport links
The municipality can be reached on the Inntal motorway (A 12) with the Telfs-West exit.
Oberhofen im Inntal can be reached by train via the Telfs-Pfaffenhofen station of the Arlbergbahn . Since June 13, 2005, Oberhofen has also had its own stop for regional traffic. There, rapid transit trains of the S-Bahn Tirol of the lines and run alternating every 30 minutes .

Oberhofen offers a multitude of easily accessible hiking trails as well as an asphalted network of paths well over 20 km, which is supplemented by the Inn cycle path (the longest cycle path in Tyrol). The world-famous Way of St. James also leads through Oberhofen.
Special excursion destinations include the Galtalm (1614 meters), which is managed from mid-June to the end of September, and the Melkalm (1694 meters) , which is managed from early June to mid-October . The latter is particularly popular with mountain bikers.

Oberhofen has a lively club life. Numerous citizens are involved in the local theater group, the rural youth, the church choir, the volunteer fire brigade, the music band and many other associations.
