Wildermieming is a municipality in the Innsbruck-Land district in Tyrol in Austria with 972 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). The community is located in the judicial district of Telfs .

Wildermieming gained fame through the TV series Der Bergdoktor as a fictional place "Sonnenstein" with the Bergdoktorhaus as a backdrop.

geography

Wildermieming is located around 40 kilometers west of Innsbruck on the eastern Mieminger Plateau . The place provides the connection from Telfs over the plateau to the Fernpass .

history

Wildermieming was first mentioned in the years 1163–1167 in a traditional note from the Wessobrunn monastery as "Wilramingin" . In 1833 Wildermieming was separated from the municipality of Mieming . Originally part of the Silz judicial district , Wildermieming was attached to the Innsbruck-Land district and the Telfs judicial district in 1925 . In 1938 the community returned to the Imst district (except for the Tillfuß district, which came to the Leutasch community and thus remained with Innsbruck-Land), and in 1947, reunited with Tillfuß, again to the Innsbruck-Land district.
