The Mieminger Plateau (local pronunciation: "Miaming") is a low mountain range terrace between 850 m and 1000 m high above the Tyrolean Upper Inn Valley , at the southern foot of the Mieminger Mountains . It includes areas of the communities Wildermieming , Mieming , Obsteig , and Mötz .

The low mountain range is made up of ground moraine and supposedly worm-age gravel. In the south, the terrace is bordered by the so-called Achbergzug, a chain made of main dolomite, towards the Inn valley.

The plateau is about 14 km long and up to 4 km wide. Except for the slopes at Telfs and Mötz, it drops steeply 200 m into the Inn Valley and ends in the west at the Holzleitensattel , where the road continues into the Gurgl Valley and the Fernpass route. From Telfs and Mötz, transit routes have probably been leading since Roman times ( Via Claudia Augusta ), which is proven by an undated milestone near Holzleiten, over the plateau to the Fernpass and on to Augsburg .

The area is characterized by a small-scale division into meadows and fields, which alternate with larch meadows and sparse forests. A network of walking and cycling trails and, in winter, cross-country ski trails run through the plateau, making it a popular recreational area.

The fictional location Sonnenstein in the TV series Der Bergdoktor is located on the plateau.
