from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The helicopter prototype Aeromobile by Vladimir Valerianowitsch von Tatarinoff dates from 1909 (according to other sources from 1907) and was developed with the support of the Russian War Ministry. After the funds were canceled due to insufficient project progress, Tatarinov set his equipment and the hangar on fire.

The vehicle had four horizontal rotors on a support structure mounted in a cross shape above the pilot and a five-bladed propeller behind the pilot's seat. The total mass was 1,300 kg. The water-cooled engine was arranged in front of the pilot, its output was about 18 kW (25 hp).
