National group

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the ski jumping world cup , the organizing national ski associations have the opportunity to start a national group twice per season at a world cup in their home country. This regulation means that in addition to the ski jumpers starting for one nation, six more athletes can compete in the qualification of the World Cup.

Germany and Austria use their option of the additional national group mostly in the context of the Four Hills Tournament , which is held on two hills each in Germany ( Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) and two hills in Austria ( Innsbruck and Bischofshofen ).
