Career

Dampney took part in 2006 with Lucy Boulton at the Junior World Championships in Mysłowice . The following year she formed a duo with Shauna Mullin and completed her first open tournaments. At the Kristiansand Open, Mullin / Dampney came in ninth in the top ten of an FIVB tournament for the first time. In 2010, 17th place in Shanghai was the best result for the British duo.

In the following year, Mullin / Dampney made it into the main round at the World Cup in Rome as third of their preliminary round group. There they were defeated in the first game by the later finalists Walsh / May-Treanor from the USA. In 2012 they received the host's starting place for the Olympic tournament in London . In front of their home crowd they defeated the Canadian duo Lessard / Martin in the first group game , but remained without a set win in the other two preliminary round games and in the lucky loser round.

Since Mullin ended her career after the Olympic tournament, Dampney played again with Boulton in 2013. As a new coach she hired the New Zealand beach volleyball player Kirk Pitman , to whom she is also engaged. At the 2013 World Cup in Stare Jabłonki, Boulton / Dampney were eliminated without a win after the preliminary round.
