Zhang Mo (born January 17, 1989 in Shijiazhuang ) is a Canadian table tennis player of Chinese descent. She took part in the Olympic Games three times . She is right-handed and uses the European shakehand grip .
Career
Zhang Mo was born in China and was just a member of the Chinese B-squad but wasn't strong enough to continue playing for China. So she came to Canada in 2000 and has been eligible to play for this country since then. In 2006 she appeared for the first time, at the age of 17 she became national vice champion in singles. At the US Open she was also able to win the gold medal with Lily Zhang . In addition, she was second in doubles at the Commonwealth Games and was able to reach the quarterfinals in singles. She also won the national championships for girls. In 2008 she qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing , but could not achieve any great success. In 2009 she became Canadian champion for the first time, at the Commonwealth Games 2010 she again won the silver medal together with Ariel Hsing . She also took part in the Russian, Australian and Polish Open, where she reached the quarter-finals. In 2011 Zhang was able to win the Pan American Games, she also took part in the Olympic Games again, she was able to beat Wue Yue in singles. In 2013, Zhang was among other things Canadian champion, the title at the Commonwealth Games in individual she was able to win for the first time. In 2014 she took part in the World Cup for the first time , but failed in qualifying against Li Jiao and Petrissa Solja and was eliminated. In 2015 she won the national championships and failed to qualify for the World Cup , where the Canadian was able to participate for the second time. In 2016 she took part in the Olympic Games , where she and the team met Germany in the round of 16 , but here the American team lost 0-3. In 2017 she still took part in the World Cup , where she lost to Zhu Yuling and then made less appearances.
