Li Jiao (born January 15, 1973 in Qingdao ) is a Chinese-born Dutch table tennis player and European champion in 2007 and 2011 .
Career
Li Jiao was one of the promoted talents in China, but she did not break into the national team. So she ended her active career and worked as a trainer at a table tennis school for five years. In 2000, she and her husband († 2009) moved to the Netherlands in the town of Herhugowaard (near Alkmaar).
In 2004 she received Dutch citizenship . Since then she has also been eligible to play internationally for the Netherlands. Since 2005 she has been nominated for all world championships . In 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 she won the European ranking tournament TOP-12 . At the European Championships she won the singles title in 2007 by beating Ni Xialian in the final and in 2008 with the Dutch team. In 2012 she joined the German Bundesliga club TTSV Saarlouis-Fraulautern .
At the 2015 European Games , she won the gold medal in singles and silver with the team.
Li Jiao is left-handed. She plays penholder style .
