The TTSV Saarlouis-Fraulautern is a table tennis club from Fraulautern . The women's team played in the women's Bundesliga from the 2010/11 season to the 2012/2013 season .

In addition, four women's, three men's and two senior teams as well as three teams from the junior division are active in the 2010/11 season.

history

The TTSV Saarlouis-Fraulautern has its roots in the sports club SV 09 Saarlouis-Fraulautern , which was founded in 1909 as a football club. Further departments were created in this association. The table tennis department was launched on March 19, 1947. In 2000 the TT department split off and founded its own association, TTSV Saarlouis-Fraulautern.

Women's team

The women's team played for the first time in 1982/83 for a season in the 2nd Bundesliga, but was relegated straight away. After several years in the regional league, the team returned to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2003. In 2007 they were promoted to the 1st Bundesliga , where the team still plays today. The second team competes in the regional league. In 2009 she renounced promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga for financial reasons. For the end of the 2012/13 season, the club announced the withdrawal of the women's team from the Bundesliga. The following year the team competed in the Regionalliga Südwest.

Men's team

The men's team reached the Oberliga Südwest in 1972 , the second highest German division at the time. She later rose again to move up to the Regionalliga Südwest in 1994 and stay there for one season. In 1996 the team disbanded. Today the men's team only plays at the regional league level.

Youth work

The association promotes the youth sector. For this he was awarded the Green Ribbon for exemplary talent promotion from Dresdner Bank in 2000. The Saarland champions U18 and Saarland champions U15 are currently playing at TTSV.
