Wu Jiaduo ( Chinese  吳佳 多  /  吴 佳 多 , Pinyin Wú Jiāduō ; born September 19, 1977 in Linhai , Zhejiang Province ) is a German table tennis player of Chinese origin. She became European champion in 2009. She also qualified twice for the Olympic Games.

Career

Wu's father, Jiauning, is a former Chinese national player and he taught her to play table tennis. First she attended a sports school, later a provincial school. At the age of 19, she began studying economics at the University of Shanghai.

In 1998 Wu moved to Germany. Here she first played at TSV Röthenbach in the table tennis Bundesliga . From 2001 to 2013 she was active at FSV Kroppach , after which she moved to the French club Metz TT, with whose women's team she became champion in the Pro A league in 2015.

After her naturalization in November 2005, she also played for the German national team. She made her debut on November 22, 2005 in Koblenz in the European Championship qualification battle against Greece. She won 3-1 against Maria Mirou. In 2007 she won the bronze medal with Germany at the European Championships. She was qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing due to her world rankings . On September 20, 2009 she won the gold medal in the individual competition at the European Championships in Stuttgart . In 2012 Wu Jiaduo qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London .

Since 2006 Wu has been with the Bundeswehr as a sports soldier in the Cologne Sports Promotion Group . In April 2017 she became the mother of a son.
