Hilde Drexler (born December 1, 1983 in Vienna ) is an Austrian judoka .

biography

Hilde Drexler began her sporting career at the judo club Colop Samurai Vienna and was able to win several national championship titles among the youngsters. After graduating from high school , she began to study German in Vienna. She became Junior European Champion in 2000 and won the silver medal a year later . In 2009 she started at the European Championships , but could not place. At the 2011 European Championships in Istanbul, however, she won the battle for bronze against Alice Schlesinger from Israel. In 2011 she reached fifth place three times in two weeks at major events, namely the Grand Slam Rio de Janeiro , the World Cup in São Paulo and the World Cup in Miami . At the World Championships in Paris she reached seventh place after three wins and two defeats. Drexler was nominated for the sports star 2011 in her hometown Vienna, but received nothing at the award ceremony on September 1, 2011.

2012 was in preparation for the 2012 Summer Olympics , for which she had qualified. After a win in the first round, she lost to Alice Schlesinger and was eliminated.
