Judo World Championships 2011
The 2011 Judo World Championships took place from August 23rd to 28th at the Palais Omnisports in Paris . Paris prevailed against Hamburg with its application . A total of 871 participants from 132 countries took part in the competitions. The most important innovation compared to the previous World Championships was the introduction of the team competition and the abolition of the open categories for both men and women.
