Edith Bosch (born May 31, 1980 in Den Helder ) is a Dutch judoka .

Bosch starts for the De Korte Sport Instituut . She became world champion in the 70 kg class at the Judo World Championships 2005 in Cairo, Egypt. At the 2004 Summer Olympics , she won the silver medal, at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, the bronze medal in the middleweight division. However, she was not known to a larger audience through her sporting successes, but rather through her performance shortly before the 100 m final at the Olympic Games in London. Bosch was staying as a spectator in the Olympic Stadium when a spectator cursed Usain Bolt while preparing for the start and threw a water bottle at him. While Bolt and the other runners hardly noticed, Bosch held the perpetrator until the police came to arrest him. One day later, the campaign was received worldwide, even the leading organizer of the games, Sebastian Coe , spoke about the event in the daily press conference and praised Bosch's commitment.
