Éva Csernoviczki

Éva Csernoviczki (born October 16, 1986 in Tatabánya ) is a Hungarian judoka . She won ten medals at European championships, two of which were gold. In 2012 she was the only Hungarian judoka to win an Olympic medal. The 1.60 m tall athlete competes in a super light weight (up to 48 kg).

Career

Csernoviczki took third place at the European Cadet Championships in 2002. In 2003, 2006 and 2008 she was the U23 European champion. In 2006 she also won her first Hungarian championship title, the second followed in 2011. At the European Championships in Lisbon in 2008 , she won the bronze medal after losing to Frédérique Jossinet from France . At the 2008 Olympics , she won two out of four fights and finished in seventh place. In 2009 she won the silver medal at the European Championships in Tbilisi , in the final she was defeated by Frédérique Jossinet. She also won silver a year later at the European Championships in Vienna behind the Romanian Alina Alexandra Dumitru . In 2011 she reached the final of the European Championships in Istanbul for the third time in a row , as Dumitru won in 2010. At the 2011 World Championships in Paris , Csernoviczki won the battle for bronze against Belgian Charline Van Snick after losing to Brazilian Sarah Menezes . At the European Championships in 2012 in Chelyabinsk Csernoviczki won three fights, but lost to the French Laëtitia Payet and received the bronze medal. The Hungarian also won bronze at the Olympic Games in London : she lost to Van Snick in the second round, but then defeated the Chinese Shugen Wu and then the Japanese Tomoko Fukumi in the hope round .

In the final of the 2013 European Championships in Budapest , Éva Csernoviczki defeated Charline Van Snick in front of a home crowd and won her first title. A year later she won the final of the European Championships in Montpellier against the French Amandine Buchard . The 2015 European Championships were held as part of the European Games in Baku , after an early loss to the Russian Irina Dolgowa , Éva Csernoviczki fought her way to the bronze medal. At the 2016 European Championships in Kazan , she was in the final again, but lost to Charline Van Snick. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , Csernoviczki only won her first fight, after two defeats she finished seventh. Éva Csernoviczki won the bronze medal at the 2017 European Championships in Warsaw . In 2018 she reached the final at the European Championships in Tel Aviv and received the silver medal after her defeat against the Russian Irina Dolgowa . It was her eleventh medal at the European Championships in a row.
