Kim Jae-bum ( Korean 김재범 ; born January 25, 1985 in Gimcheon , Gyeongsangbuk-do ) is a former South Korean judoka .
Athletic career
At the Olympic judo tournament in Beijing in 2008, Kim lost in the final in the light middleweight (class up to 81 kg) to the German judoka Ole Bischof by a foot technique (small inner sickle). During the following Olympics, Kim developed into the dominant judoka in his weight class: At the 2009 World Championships in Rotterdam , he achieved the bronze medal. In 2010 in Tokyo and 2011 in Paris he won the world championship title. At the 2012 Olympic Judo Tournament in London , the Beijing finals were relaunched, this time with Kim getting the upper hand.
On May 1, 2016, he announced the end of his career.
