Tiago Camilo
Tiago Henrique de Oliveira Camilo (born May 24, 1982 in Tupã ) is a Brazilian judoka who won two Olympic medals and was world champion in 2007.
Camilo first won the youth world championship in Moscow in 1998 and three months later the junior world championship in Cali in the 66 kilogram class. In 2000 he took second place in the class up to 73 kilograms at the World Cup in Paris. At the Olympic Games in Sydney he reached the final in September 2000 and was defeated there by the Italian Giuseppe Maddaloni .
After a long break, Camilo returned to the world class in 2004 when he finished second in the 81 kilogram class at the Super World Cup in Hamburg. In 2005 he finished second at the Pan American Championships. In 2007 he won the Pan American Championships in the 90 kilogram class, and in July he won the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro. Two months later, the world championship also took place in Rio de Janeiro, for the title fights Camilo hungered back into the category under 81 kilograms and won the title in this weight class in front of a home crowd. In 2008, Camilo also competed in the class up to 81 kilograms, taking third place at the Super World Cup in Hamburg. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 he also managed a third place, eight years after his silver medal, this was his second Olympic medal.
The fifth in London in 2012 won the Pan American Games in the weight class up to 90 kg in 2015 for the third time after 2007 and 2011.
