Takahiro Nishida

Takahiro Nishida ( Japanese 西 田孝宏 , Nishida Takahiro ; born April 14, 1957 ) is a former Japanese judoka . In 1981 he was Asian champion in the lightweight, the weight class up to 71 kilograms.

Athletic career

Takahiro Nishida won the 1976 Junior World Championships in the weight class up to 70 kilograms, defeating the Italian Ezio Gamba in the final . In 1978 he won the world championships for students. In 1978, 1979, 1984 and 1985 Takahiro Nishida won the Japanese championships. He also won from 1980 to 1983 and 1985 at the Kodokan Cup, a tournament open only to Japanese.

In early 1981 Nishida won the Tournoi de Paris . At the Asian Championships in Jakarta in 1981, he won the final over the Korean Park. Four years later at the 1985 World Championships in Seoul, Nishida finished seventh after losing to South Korean Ahn Byeong-keun in the quarterfinals .
